1. rationality
why do senior talents need to be rational? let’s look at the philosophical definition of reason: purposeful activity. why are adults more rational than young children? because adults are more responsible for the purpose.
since the core of enterprise management is goal management, then achieving goals is the top priority of the enterprise, inevitably, executives must be rational, always remember what the goal of the enterprise is, and cannot be biased by emotions or trivia.
if an immature person is appointed as an executive of a company, it is a disaster for the company. for example, in the book glory and dreams, hitler is written that he had the most powerful german legion and the best general, but because of his “artistic decision-making”, he was defeated by the allies. this is, of course, a good thing for all of humanity.
let’s look at the definition of sensibility: it means that people are emotionally rich, can empathize with other people’s encounters, and have strong sensitivity. being born as a human being, sensibility is of course very important. if a person becomes like a robot, it is not a beautiful thing. but as an enterprise manager, “rationality and pragmatism on the outside, sensibility and romance on the inside” is a kind of cultivation.
2. logic
what is the antonym of logic? it’s logical confusion, there’s no logic, you talk to him east, he talks to you to west. if the company’s executives are like that, it’s terrible.
in a broad sense, logic refers to laws, including laws of thinking and objective laws. saying that this person has logic, the essence of this person can realistically see and solve problems, rather than wishful thinking, self-reinforcement, self-motivation, and feel that “i can do it” can do everything. deng gong’s seeking truth from facts can change a country. if the managers of the enterprise can be pragmatic, it is a blessing for the team.
so, how can there be logic? one of the most important key points is: don’t pretend. zhang yiming once said such a sentence in the early days of entrepreneurship:
CHAT WITH FRIENDS AND ASK HIM WHAT HE VALUES FOR THE TALENT OF HIS COLLABORATORS, AND I CAN’T REMEMBER THE OTHER POINTS, BUT REMEMBER: DON’T INSTALL B. AT THAT TIME, I THOUGHT ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE, AND THEN I FELT MORE AND MORE REASONABLE. IT’S ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMIND YOURSELF THAT IT’S ALSO AN EXERCISE TO DELAY GRATIFICATION.
3. cultivation
CULTIVATION IS NOT SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE HAS. SOME PEOPLE ARE EASILY AGITATED UNTIL THEY SHOUT WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER OBJECTIONS. SOME COMPANIES HAVE GONE TO THE C ROUND, THE D ROUND, AND THE MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS HAVE MADE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THE COMPANY.
i once experienced an incident in which two managers in the company quarreled and insulted each other. in the end, the company decided to fire one of them — because the company had a principle that it was forbidden to insult and slander colleagues in public. at that time, i did not understand the truth of this regulation, but now that i think about it, managers are the role models of employees. if the manager’s behavior is not punished, it means acquiescence. upward and downward effect, the company can not speak well.
what does cultivation mean, that is, the correct attitude towards people and things. cultivation is also a kind of leadership, and we often hear young people talk about their leadership – he is a cultivated person. implicitly, he is a man who focuses on the big picture, focuses on his strengths, and is worth following.
4. ambition
it is not easy to do things, and only with a strong motivation and resilience can we succeed. ——zhang yiming
the company sets the same goal, but the understanding and adoption of this goal is different from top to bottom of the company. some people think that i just come to work and get a salary, you don’t ask me too much. some people know that after the goal is achieved, the benefits for themselves are great, so they are willing to hitchhike and then make a little effort. some people have the momentum of not giving up on the goal, and this kind of person is the most capable of contributing to the organization.
“ambition” is the greatest motivation for a person to fully exert his talents, exert his strong driving force and pursue success. bytedance chooses people, whether they are newcomers or senior talents, a strong motivation is a point that they all value very much. when as far as every company as possible, there is a strong will to succeed, this business is like a high-speed train in the green-skinned train pile, fast? peers set off well.
5. self-control
many people can drive, too fast, easy to have accidents, too slow, easy to fall behind. our whole life is to control our own life. do you drive your own way and rely on emotions to dominate? or is it dominated by reason and logic?
in the book “thinking fast and slow”, it talks about two sets of human thinking systems, fast thinking is inherited from our ancestors, the thinking system engraved in our genes, such as in the dark will be afraid, because in the jungle, darkness means that there may be danger.
but now that we have entered the city, the danger of the jungle is no longer so prominent, but we will still subconsciously fear the darkness. slow thinking prompts us to make rational judgments and executions, which is self-control.
excellent self-control helps us to be more goal-oriented. to obtain this ability, we need to repeatedly cultivate ourselves, encounter things, if we are already on the top, don’t rush to act, calm down, guide ourselves to think about what our goal is? what kind of judgment and execution should i make to achieve my goals?
in the long run, good thinking habits can be established.
